Children with Dyslexia have difficulty organizing and expressing their thoughts. It is best to allow them to use age appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
1 – Find an alternative to writing a report
- they could create a video. This is an area where many children with dyslexia can excel.
- they can present to the class. While they are very shy about reading in front of a class, if it’s a topic that interests them, they will be able to present by memory, in their own words.
- you can also put children in a group to present. This way they can bounce ideas off each other and collaborate.
- They could present an interview, with questions about the topic or answers to assess their comprehension of the topic being studied
